"It always struck me in years after how bizarre it was, how two people could look at one another with such tenderness and complete love, and how quickly that could dissolve into nothing but bitterness."

But single motherhood empowers women and that is all that matters.

I don’t got a dad

okay literally why do people even hate on single parents ever???
like, single parents KICK ASS. not because they want to - damn, does ANYONE want to do something as monumental as parenthood ALONE? - but because they have to, and they step up to the plate and make that shit happen. is it preferable? nah. is it ideal? not at all. but don’t rag on the one parent in that child’s life that is doing what they have to to make things work. instead, why don’t we ask why so many parents - fathers and yes sometimes even mothers - walk out on their children in the first place? why are we a society that does not value our children and the best possible future for them? why are we a society that doesn’t step in to help the struggling single parents? why don’t we provide them with the resources to give their children healthy lives? there are so many questions here, and no one cares enough to ask them, and that’s really sad.

Single parents are awesome and they deserve so much respect for what they do. That’s because parenting is a two-person full-time job, and single parents have to take on twice the work. Ideally, each kid should have a mom and a dad. When that’s not possible, one parent is better than none! That’s when we as a society need to step up and support those single parents. I don’t mean the government. I mean us, as a community. We need to put in our own time and money to help single parents, not just vote for someone else’s money to do it.

No

"Look! They care for each other! They must be in love!”

Stop

"They talk to each other  a lot! Its so cannon that they’re gay for each other!"

STOP DEVALUING FRIENDSHIPS!

ROMANCE/SEX IS NOT SUPERIOR TO FRIENDSHIP!

PEOPLE CAN LOVE AND CARE FOR EACH OTHER WITHOUT BEING ROMANTICALLY/SEXUALLY INVOLVED!

PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS ARE NOT INFERIOR TO ROMANTIC/SEXUAL ONES!

Good Guy Burglar

no you don’t understand.
he fully knew that he’d be arrested for breaking and entering but he still reported this.
he know he’d go to jail, but he put human decency before his own freedom and called out this disgusting sexual perversion.
and if you don’t think that’s the tightest crap ever get out of my face.

  • Do not forget Michael Brown
  • Do not forget how the media dehumanized him and tried to justify his murder
  • Do not forget how peaceful protests were painted as savage riots
  • Do not forget police armed with military grade weapons terrorized and arrested black civilians
  • Do not forget Darren Wilson being awarded over $400,000 in fundraiser donations for murdering an unarmed black child
  • Do not forget that this system was not built to defend us, but to control us
  • Do not forget Ferguson

I don’t really have a lot of experience with things working out in relationships. In all honesty i’ve never been in a functional and real relationship, but I do know something about love. I know that if you really care about someone you don’t back down when things get a little more difficult, that’s being a coward. I know that if you want things to last, you have to be there everyday through the good and the bad.
